Riviera terraces

Design of exterior terraces, landscaped gardens and furniture.

Our brief was to transform a hard concrete environment into an inviting exterior space ideal for relaxing and entertaining in the South of France.

We transformed ordinary fence boundaries into an attractive backdrop by using slatted panels. Limestone tiles traverse from inside the property and continue to the terraces, merging boundaries between inside and outside spaces. Lighting plays a key role in this garden's transformation; spike lights creates focal points around the garden highlighting specimen trees and feature planting. Bollard, wall and pendant lighting add a touch of sophistication.

We worked in collaboration with ‘The Landscape Architect’ to design the tropical inspired soft landscaping scheme bringing colour and texture throughout the year. With careful planning, the exterior was transformed within sixteen days.

Restricted road access, the planting of 300 square meters, delivery of a large sculpture and the installation of large furniture added to the challenge. Our vision was to create a beautiful garden setting providing privacy from neighbours whilst allowing uninterrupted panoramic views. Planting in harmony with the architecture, the Mediterranean climate and ongoing maintenance was considered. Bespoke Corten Steel planters complete the terrace lounge. We designed a feature garden area to showcase our client's 'Nun's Story' sculpture by renowned British sculptor, Philip Jackson.
