French Riviera, Summer 2014
We designed the architectural concept for this beautiful Riviera property, working with a local Architect to achieve planning consent on behalf of the Client.
We wanted the property to keep it's Mediterranean charm and by pushing the design boundaries of the existing building we managed to achieve a contemporary property sympathetic to it's surroundings.
The charcoal frames of the large windows and sliding doors contrast the white rendered exterior whilst complimenting the cedar coloured cladding.
Due to strict planning regulations, the front boundary wall had to be constructed from local stone. The stone is supplied as large rounded boulders which can look cumbersome and bulky; to achieve a smart, contemporary look we had the stone boulders hand carved into squares showcasing the beauty of the local stone and the outstanding workmanship that went into creating each piece.
We designed a bespoke oversized front door to the property with a contemporary linear handle complimenting the linear design of the garage doors.
The creation of the four-sided mirror infinity pool is one of the many highlights of this property. It provides a relaxing place to swim but to also admire as a large water feature reflecting its surroundings.
Our brief was to provide a practical yet beautiful concept design for the exterior of this property. The client wanted a property which would stand proud in the cliffside and it certainly does. We designed the exterior and garden layouts, glass balustrade system, lift finishes, floor finishes, exterior building finishes, the door, window and garage systems and the infinity pool.
